SPARROW COVE PENGUIN ADVENTURE

1600 Gentoo penguins, 5 breeding pairs of King penguins & other wildlife This tour gives the very special opportunity to see both Gentoo and the elusive King penguin.

Passengers are greeted by the landowners and driven by experienced local guides. A half hour journey across country in 4-wheel drive vehicles to the Gentoo penguin colony (1,680 pairs), 4 breeding pairs of King penguin – 45 minutes at site.

There are fantastic views providing unique photographic opportunities of Stanley and the ship. Visitors may be fortunate to view red-backed hawks, Falkland skuas, turkey vultures & the endemic Falkland flightless steamer duck. There are basic toilet facilities and a shelter.

For the shoppers there will be small souvenirs for sale. Sparrow Cove will provide a rare and exciting experience for the visitor.

Guests will need to bring sensible shoes and waterproof, warm clothing, a warm hat is also advisable.
