Passing close by a military radar site and Estancia Farm, to the head of Berkeley Sound there is the opportunity to learn about the historical Port Louis Settlement. Long Island Farm is situated approximately 20 miles from Stanley is a 22,000 acre sheep farm which belongs to 6th generation Falkland Island family (the Watsons) who still live and farm in completely traditional Falkland style. They farm using skilled sheep dogs and Falkland Island bred horses, milk their own cows, make their own bread, butter and cream. They also use the traditional fuel peat which is a tradition that has nearly died out in the Falklands. A sheep shearing demonstration will take place. There will be a horse gearing display. Tea and home-baked cookies and savoury food served in the farmhouse kitchen.

A two mile long white sand beach directly in front of the house provides a rich array of shore birds to observe. The World Discoverer made the very first cruise ship landing on Long Island Beach 23rd February 2003.
